Golden Birthday

The week we got home from the beach was my birthday week!  I love birthday's...ask me again in 2 years- but for now I LOVE THEM!

The band director at the high school I work with quit and a new band director was hired.  Luckily it was the assistant band director/middle school band director!  So the staff got together for a bbq the week of my birthday.  We got a lot accomplished and feel really good about the upcoming season!  Here are 2 pictures I took while there.  I had to take them to remember Ashley by...she left for a month the next day!  I am very sad!

Friday May 28th was my GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!  (28 on the 28th)  We had dinner at The Bistro 105 and it was fabulous.  I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  The dinner was wonderful and then we had birthday pie!  Bistro makes the most wonderful coconut pie and I told Artie I would rather have that than cake.  (He took my temperature and asked if I felt alright when I told him because I LOVE CAKE)
Birthday Pie!

My wonderful friends

I have to tell you that Artie hit the nail on the head with my birthday gifts this year.  He bought me a new camera bag that is gorgeous and an AWESOME video camera!  I could not believe it...he told it will that i needed one not only for Gray but for the majorettes as well.

I had a wonderful golden birthday!  Check back tomorrow for the baby shower post!

Beach

Last weekend Artie and I headed over to the beach with my in laws.  We had a really good time and relaxed a little.  Of course, we ate like pigs and had to do a little detox when we got home. Our family likes to visit Little River South Carolina so much we have a condo there!  It makes me so sad because it always goes by so fast.  It just makes me want to go back!

On our way to dinner the first night

Dinner on the third night at Filet's
I loved it being right on the water...the weather was perfect so we sat on the porch!

The restaurant had a band so David and Cathy danced!
I just love this 70's action from The Pioneer Woman

This little cute turtle was just swimming around all the boats docked

I love to go but I equally love to come back!  I miss my pups when we are gone and sleeping in my own bed.  I am so glad we were able to go before Grayson came.

Check back tomorrow for the birthday post!

Baby Be Blessed

Lyndsie over at A Love Worth Waiting For is having a WONDERFUL give away!  She is giving away a gift certificate to Baby Be Blessed.  If you have not checked out the Baby Be Blessed site you must take a peak!   Here is a little bit about their company-

"Baby Be Blessed is a doll ministry. We are a family of stay at home Christian Mommies who love the Lord and desire to share His hope and truth. Each handmade doll has the Word of God printed on a patch sewn to their belly. Our mission and deepest desire is for each child to come to know, understand, and live for Jesus. We pray that each child that receives a Baby Be Blessed Doll would be ready to hear, accept, and embrace the truth! We encourage each parents to stand on the strong foundation of Gods Word and to teach it. We pray that these dolls would be part of the tools you would use to do that."

I have been looking at these sweet dolls since we found out that we would be receiving Grayson!   If I do not win, I definitely plan on ordering one SOON!

Head over to Lyndsie's blog for a chance to win!  Here is a link to her personal blog and a link to her giveaway blog.  I think every child needs a doll like this!

I forgot to mention that the drawing ends Friday May 28th (MY BIRTHDAY) so I definitely need to win!  Ha!

Weekend Recap

What a wonderful weekend we had!  Friday Artie and I went on a dinner date and to Toy's R Us to buy a present for a birthday party on Saturday.  We had such a great time talking about Grayson and our upcoming trip to the beach.  Once we got home, we both went right to bed- we were exhausted!  Unfortunately, when you go to bed early, you get up early.  Artie and I were awake at 6am on Saturday!  It was ok though because we turned on the tv and snuggled with the pups for a bit.  Then we went our separate ways...sad!  I headed to a birthday party and Artie went to breakfast with a friend.

My good friend Rebecca's son turned 3 in April and his birthday party was Saturday.  It was a Dr. Seuss theme and was decorated SUPER cute!  Rebecca always does the best job at making a party come together.  The cake was fabulous, it was The Cat in the Hat's hat haha!

Here is the birthday boy running to play in the ball pit!  He wore a Thing 1 shirt and his sister Callie wore a Thing 2 shirt!  It was adorable!

Sunday was our annual Joy and Jubilation service at church.  Instead of a traditional sermon, the choir sings 4 songs and there is a story before each one.  It is always so fun because we get to perform at both services.  I love to sing to Lord, I feel like it is one small thing I can do to glorify and thank Him.  After church I headed over to baton practice.  We had practice last Monday but one girl was on a school trip so this was the first practice with EVERYONE!!!

Aren't they cute?!

We had a great weekend and I am looking forward to heading to the beach later this week!
Blessings!

Mother's Day

I am really behind on posting about Mother's Day!  The week just got away from me I suppose.

Our Mother's Day started on Friday.  Artie surprised me with presents when I got home from work.  He bought a beautiful baby book, a charm for my pandora bracelet, and a cross for Grayson's room.  I was really not expecting anything so it was a nice surprise.  We then met Artie's family for dinner to celebrate.  Sunday we headed to Knoxville to celebrate with my mom.  Oh!  I have to tell you about a text message I received Sunday.   On our way Sunday, Artie came back to the car after filling it up with gas and noticed that I was sobbing.   He asked what in the world was wrong and I just handed him my phone.  The message said "Good morning it's (Suzy Creamcheese)! Grayson just wanted to tell you HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!  Hope you have a great day!"

See? Sobbing.

We started painting Grayson's room and it looks fabulous.  I have taken pictures and will post them once everything is complete.  Just a few little spot to go back over.  The colors are awesome and look great together!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY YAY!!

I hope you have had a great week!

Plan B

I can not tell you how excited I am to get started reading this book.

As you all know by now- my current life is Plan B.  In my head I was going to fall in love, get married and have babies (lots of them).  On our honeymoon we started trying to conceive...here we are 2 1/2 years later about to ADOPT our first child.  I have always said that my Plan B is God's Plan A.   I think this book has been released at the perfect time.  Mother's Day is hard.  Even as a woman on the verge of an adoption, I still mourn the children I can not have physically have.  (If you are going through this-you know what I am talking about)   This book is just what I need.

If anyone would like my copy when I am done let me know!    I hope you are having a great week.

Majorette Workshop

Sunday, 2 of the new majorettes, an alumni majorette, Ashley and I piled into the car and headed to Knoxville.  We attended a majorette workshop to get some new ideas for exchanges and tricks.  The drive down was so much fun, we spent the entire time just laughing and laughing.  The workshop kicked their booty haha! They learned a lot and can not wait to show the rest of the team all of their new tricks.  Alexis actually won an award!  Everyone at the workshop had to do whatever routine they were working on (our girls performed their tryout routines) and whoever had the least amount of drops won!  Well Alexis had a no drop and we were so proud!  After the workshop we went to Outback and pigged out- they earned it!  The waiter was a little odd though.  I think he thought the girls were cute!  At one point he brought out more bread and told us that he added some honey butter especially for us then he just stood there.  Looking at us.  It was a little creepy.  We have practice next Monday with the whole group and I am really excited to get started!  This is going to be a wonderful year.

2010 GHS Majorette Line

Today we held tryouts for the GHS majorette line!  I can not tell you how emotionally charged this day has been.  Nine girls tried out and five girls made the line.  I love each girl dearly and have come to know them very well over the past year.  So it was really hard to be happy and sad all at the same time!  Luckily I did not have the hard job of picking who made it.  I am so proud of all the girls who tried out.  It takes a lot of courage to put your heart into something and be judged.  Here are some pictures from the day.

Everyone who tried out
How cute are they?
