Attention

A sign for the patrons of Taco Bell in my small town: "Closed to honor the memory of Michael Jackson". Not even kidding...just in case you were wondering.

Sad

Please say a prayer for this family. They are more than deserving of a child and just made the hard decision to walk away from an adoption. I have been following this family for a while
because they have had successes and failures in adoptions. This is what scares me about the adoption process. They could not control the circumstances and made the best decision for their family. Everything was rolling along and then it wasn't. Check out their blog and please pray for God to continue to grant peace. http://www.our-journey-to-parenthood.blogspot.com/

How much wood does a woodchuck chuck?

This is the little cutie that has taken up
residence under our home.
If she stays much longer will name her.
(assuming it's a her)

The hole

This afternoon my husband told me that he thinks we have something living under the house. He took me around to the side of the house and pointed out a hole dug in the dirt that was right next the house. Artie said it was there the other day but he had filled it in. The hole he showed me today was definitely not filled in. I went out to take a picture of the hole and all of a sudden something scurried away and down the hole. I did not get a good look at it but I have a feeling it is a ground hog. Here are the pictures of the hole! I will let you know if I find out what is taking up residence under our home.

This is the hole looking down from the porch. The hole is behind the bush closest to the house.
The brown dirt is what was dug recently.

The hole is right behind the bush .
This is looking straight at it.
Oh...and the dirt again

Does anyone know what groundhogs eat?

R.I.P

It is a sad day in the Allen home. I am sorry to announce that Jackson's baby has died. He has had this one particular baby since he was tiny. Every morning he would grab it and carry it around in his mouth all day. No matter where Jack went, baby went. Jackson must have been distracted and left his baby outside. This afternoon at 12:45pm, Jackson's baby was run over by the lawn mower and shred into a million pieces. Here is a photo of Jackson with his baby. I would show a picture of the after...but it is just too gruesome. :)

And I shall reign supreme AGAIN!!!

Just kidding...but it is fun to say. I finally finished the music room and it is super cute!!! The theme this year is Canyons. So the decorations are pretty abstract so use your imagination. It is still the most fun room out of them all! I will post pictures next week after vacation bible school is over. It should be a great week! Enjoy

No news

Life is starting to get hectic again. Which I must admit is a nice way to escape from my own thoughts. We had a meeting with our pastor and asked and prayed for some guidance. Still no answers yet, trying to take it one day at a time and seeing what God has planned. This week the band started summer practices. I am very excited because it gives me an outlet to do what I love. This week I went to a water park in Jonesborough (who knew?) with a good friend. I really had a great time floating around in the lazy river! I learned that 30 SPF sunscreen is not enough...and have really horrible tan lines now. Still in constant prayer for clarity and peace. Trying to accept the things I can not change. Which is hard...I like to be in control.

I am trying.

Really.

No seriously.

Pretty busy week planned...VBS starts next week and I am in charge of music. I have a lot to live up to. My room last year was the most awesome room ever! (remember?) This year I am having a hard time getting into decorating for it. I will post some pics when I get it put together. Lots of band and work in there too (and maybe a little running on the elliptical..well maybe not). So for now I ask for a small prayer if you get the chance. I know there are a lot of other people struggling with worse things...I know. I am just asking for a small prayer...a prayer for answers and a prayer for peace.

PS...this time last year I was here
