2 Months Old

Dear Grayson,

I can not fathom that you have been a part of our lives for 2 whole months.  It seems like it was just yesterday that we were walking into that hospital.  I know I say this all the time but you are such a good baby. Here is what you have been up to:
  • This month you have grown A LOT.  You are 12 pounds..super chunk!
  • You have outgrown all of your newborn clothing and can now fit into 0-3 and 3-6 month things.  This makes me sad to put away all of your tiny outfits! '
  • You are very long...I lay you on my stomach and you are almost half of me! (Although that is not too hard haha)
  • You are sleeping great at night!  You will feed at 10pm and sleep until about 4am.  Then go back to sleep until about 7am.
  • You are a weird daytime eater and it is hard to decipher what your schedule is.  You will eat some of your bottle and then in an hour start screaming again.  Most days it feels like you are always eating!  I have learned to not make a full bottle during the day because it will usually go to waste.
  • When you are done eating you make the cutest face and WILL NOT let anything else past your lips.
  • You are awake almost all day now.  You do not like to take naps and sleep for about 20-30 minutes when you do.  Even though I know you are tired, you never get fussy.
  • You really like to lay on your tummy time mat...although not on your stomach!
  • You are not a fan of the pacifier.  Sometimes you will take it in the car seat.
  • YOU SMILE ALL THE TIME!!!  This makes me so happy.

Grayson you are such a happy baby.  You really are the perfect addition to our family.  God sure knew what He was doing when He brought you into our lives.  You have so many people who love you dearly and would do anything for you.  I have people fighting over who can babysit you! If mommy and daddy took everyone up on their offer, we would be gone for 3 weeks straight!  This month was a special month because you were Baptized in our church.  All of our friends and family were there to celebrate with you.  You have an amazing church family!  It makes me a little sad that you do not need to wake up and eat throughout the night anymore.  I love sleep as much as the next person but I know that means you are growing up.  I cherish those middle of the night feedings because very soon they will be gone.

Here is a little video I put together of your newborn pictures and the past 2 months of your life.  (I meant to show it at your Baptism lunch but forgot to bring the computer)  So I added a few more pictures and can show it now  ha!

Goodbye

Last night Artie and I received a call that his Grandfather was taken to the hospital because his pneumonia had taken a turn for the worse. He was admitted to ICU and Artie's mom was told to go home once he was stable. This morning they called to tell her to come to the hospital right away.  An hour later he passed away.  His body just could not take anymore. We are grateful for the time we got to spend with him and so happy he was able to meet Grayson.

Therefore we do not lose heart.

Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
–2 Corinthians 4:16-15:8 (New International Version)

Game Day

Saturday I was able to get out and go to the UT game with Artie!  We have season tickets but he usually goes with his best friend.  Especially now that we have monkey moe!  Artie and I had a great time and UT won (after 2 overtimes)!  I like football but I LOVE Salute to the Hill, pregame and halftime.  The majorettes do a really great job and are always a joy to watch!

Guess what sweet boy will be 2 months old tomorrow?  How can that be?  I do not like this one bit!  Here are some cute pics I took this week.  This onesie is perfect for him...HE NEVER WANTS TO NAP!  However I will not complain...he sleeps really well at night. YAY!  I will have a full run down of what he has been doing this month.  I have been getting reports that I do not put enough pictures up of Gray.  I am going to try to be better.  This time in his life is going so fast that I do not want to forget a second of what he was like during it.

I sure do love that sweet smile and his mohawk ha!

Do you have to take so many pictures mom?

Before I forget!  Pop over to my friend Faith's blog and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I hope you had a restful weekend.  I am looking forward to this week with lots of fun things happening!

Barbie Party

Saturday, Ashley and I decorated for her niece's birthday!  It was a Barbie Party!!  Her mom put us in charge so she would not be stressed out about it.  It was held at the local YMCA and turned out very cute.  We even invited "Barbie" to come!  It was actually one of the majorettes in a wig ha! The little girls loved it though!

Baptism

What a wonderful Sunday we had!  Yesterday Grayson was Baptized in our church.  It was such a special service and made me feel so blessed to be a part of this congregation.  Austin sang so beautifully one of my favorite songs "Come To Jesus" by Chris Rice.  I just sat and cried and cried.  After church a big group went out to lunch.  The table was HUGE!  It was really a great day and I am so glad we got to share it with all the special people in our life.

I pray that you remember your Baptism this week and be fully restored in Him.

Coming soon...

This weekend was a whirlwind!  A football game on Friday, a birthday party Saturday, Baptism and another birthday party today!  Whew!  Two words for you- WORN OUT! I have taken one million pictures this weekend.  I am working on editing and uploading them as we speak.  This was a wonderful weekend and I can not wait to share it with you!  In the mean time here is a picture of someone on his 7 week birthday!  He started smiling this week! I have been trying to get a picture of him doing it but he stops the second I get the camera out.  This is as close as I could get boo!

Sip and See (sort of)

Sorry it has been a while since I last posted.  Fall is such a busy time for me and now that Grayson is here it is downright hectic!

Sunday evening my friends Ashley and Alison hosted a "sip and see" shower for Grayson!  The band family had been wanting to do something for me and so they spear headed it up.  It was so much fun.  A local farm has a beautiful pavilion and so they planned a rustic event.  The theme was Cute As A Button and it was as the name implies!  Ha!  The food was sooo good!  They brought crock pots of chili, lemonade, sweet tea, and PIES!!!  I like cake but I LOVE PIE, it was truly a country affair.  The only sipping was of the sweet tea...we chowed down!
